Learn more about the Dutch painter

This mini-docu takes you along various paintings made by Vincent van Gogh. From his self-portraits to his paintings of French landscapes. You will learn more about the painter by listening to quotations from his letters. Hear how Vincent looked at himself and how he got inspired by France. Before moving to Paris in 1885, Vincent had lived in various cities in Europe. In France he developed his famous colorful painting style, consisting of short brush strokes. The land, the light and the colors there were a great source of inspiration for him. He lived in the city of Paris for a couple of years, but it was a bit too crowded for him. That’s why he decided to move to Arles in the south of France. During the time that he lived there, he painted many beautiful landscapes, and his paintings were all very colorful.
